Virtual Pub is a small private site run by one person for friends. This page says what it records, why, and for how long.
What we record
- Your account, if you have one: your name and a scrambled (hashed) form of your password. We can't see your password.
- Activity: when you log in, join a room, agree to these terms, and add or remove files, along with your name (or "guest"), your IP address, your browser's description of itself, and the time.
- Files you add to a room, with their name, size and a fingerprint (a checksum) of their contents.
- Small cookies that keep you logged in, remember rooms you've entered with a room password, and remember that you've agreed to these terms. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Voice, positions in the bar and other in-game activity go directly between the players' browsers and are not recorded by us.
Why
To run the site, to keep rooms private, to stop abuse (for example repeated wrong passwords or harmful uploads), and to deal with problems if they happen.
How long
- Activity records: 12 months, then deleted.
- Files: until they're removed from the room, or the room is closed.
- Your account: until it's removed.
Who sees it
Only the person who runs the site. Files you add to a room are visible to everyone in that room. We don't sell or share data, except that we may disclose information to law enforcement where required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
The site runs on Vercel (hosting) and Cloudflare (file storage and connection relays), who process data on our behalf.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, by contacting the person who runs the site (the admin who gave you access). Some records may need to be kept for the period above to deal with abuse.
